One of the questions we hear most often about unaccompanied immigrant children is: Who would send their child here alone? What kind of parent would do that?

There are so many ways these kids end up alone. But the impossible and heroic decision to send your baby—who you love every bit as much as we love our babies—away, because that is the only hope that you can see for them—to sacrifice your time with your child because you believe that is the only way for them to have peace…I can only hope that I would ever be that brave.

And I can only imagine that IF I were brave enough to do that, I would spend every single night in bed praying that a bunch of parents in the other place would care enough to show up for and protect my child.

To show up for these children and their families NOW, register at the link in bio for the “Witness for Justice” Family Meeting, where my dear friends/heroes Lillian Aponte Miranda @the_florenceproject and Shaina Aber @acaciajustice will show us how we can bear witness to what’s happening behind closed doors.

Getting to sing, dance, embrace, cry, laugh and celebrate with all of you on the We Can Do Hard Things tour was pure magic. We will never forget those nights.
Now, we're bringing that magic to you.

Today on @wecandohardthings@amandafdoyle@abbywambach and I are sharing the real, raw footage from our favorite moments on tour—we talk about internalized sexism, what to do when you don't have a village, and why friendship might be the most important survival tool we have.

Come join us at the link in bio or wherever you get your podcasts.

Thank you for photos @minismitty@chrishershman

You know about the ICE raids happening all over the nation. But do you know what’s happening to the children left behind?

Right now, terrified two-year-olds are being forced to represent themselves in court, all alone, without knowing where they or their families are. I have seen this with my own eyes.

But we are not powerless. We can show up—with our bodies, our voices, and our relentless solidarity—to ensure that no child has to go through this alone.

My friends/heroes Lillian Aponte Miranda at The Florence Project and Shaina Aber at Acacia Center for Justice have made it their life's mission to advocate for and represent these children. Now, they’ve invited us to help.

It’s Emergency Family Meeting Time. Please join us on Friday, July 25, to learn how you can protect immigrant children and families in your community. Click the link in bio or go to tinyurl.com/florencemeeting to register. LFG.
